School board discusses flooding and bond

After a flood disrupted operations at Farragut Middle School, the Hastings Board of Education offered insight into the condition of the building, and how the situation affects a proposed school bond, during their meeting on Jan. 8. 

Starting Dec. 24, for almost 24 hours, a ruptured sprinkler system in the attic caused water to pour through the ceilings, floors, and walls of the Farragut Wing, which is part of the middle school/high school Farragut Complex. The damage to all three floors of the wing will require months of restoration. Currently, middle school classes (grades 5-8) are being held in other parts of the Farragut Complex.
