The Village of Ardsley Multicultural, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee is kicking off 2025 with a new co-chair and a calendar of events celebrating the many residents who make up Ardsley.
The committee’s new co-chair, Demetria Jones, was appointed after Alka Shukla stepped down from the post last month. Jones, an eight-year Ardsley resident who works as a senior project specialist at Con Edison, takes a broad view of her MDIC role and the group’s potential impact.
“The biggest reason why I wanted to become a co-chair of this committee is to learn,” she said, “learn from others, learn from the people of Ardsley, what they’re seeking, what their mindset is — and then see what I can contribute to the inclusiveness in Ardsley, and have that translate through the other villages and communities in Westchester as well.”
