Café builds upon global experience
Olurotimi “Tim” Akapo at Ludy Café

IRVINGTON — Olurotimi “Tim” Akapo’s lifelong international coffee journey led him and his wife, Ashley Akapo, to open Ludy Café at the Irvington Metro-North station in June. 

Tim Akapo developed an interest in the making of coffee as a child in Lagos, Nigeria, and followed that passion in Australia, Europe, and in the U.S. In 2020, the Akapos were married and moved to Ardsley.

“Coffee has been a massive passion of mine, and living in Melbourne just kind of gave me more exposure to coffee — understanding the process behind it, how to make it, and how to sell it,” said Tim, who is also an investment partner in two coffee houses in Melbourne.
